After Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced the formation of a committee to investigate violations affecting the country’s prestige, as the activity of what are locally known as “Katyusha cells” has recently increased, especially since the Al-Kazemi’s visit to Washington two months ago … The committee concluded, according to the leaks, that the Katyusha pitchers are Members of the Iraqi Hezbollah militia.

According to Al-Arabiya, the information suggested that the explosives were manufactured in Jurf al-Sakhar, that area that was strategic before the militia made it a forbidden zone.

Until 2014, Jurf al-Sakhr was inhabited by Sunni Arabs, but after its liberation from ISIS, Kataib Hezbollah prevented residents from returning.

It also prevented any other Iraqi forces from entering Jurf al-Sakhar, which is a haven for Kataib Hezbollah activities, including missile development.

On Tuesday, Al-Kazemi’s office issued a document that includes the formation of a committee to investigate violations targeting Iraq’s security, prestige, reputation and international obligations, and to identify defaulters.

He noted that “this committee is authorized to obtain any information that it requests from any party, and we hope that it will obtain its results within the time specified for it.” The results of this committee will help to confirm the prestige and professionalism of the State and the military establishment.

The committee is also expected to work in conjunction with representatives of the House of Representatives, the Security and Defense Committee, including the head of the House Security and Defense Committee, Representative Muhammad Ridha Dawud Nasser Al-Haidari, Vice President of the House Security and Defense Committee, Representative Nayef Makif Shannan Al-Shammari and Representative Haraki Nasser Yusef. The decision confirmed that the committee’s work is submitted within 30 days from the date of implementation of this order.

It is noteworthy that, on October 1 of this year, the anniversary of the first anniversary of the massive protests that spread throughout Iraq, interspersed with violent events that led to the death of some 500 protesters and the arrest or kidnapping of dozens. On the part of some militias, the fate of some of them is unknown.

These protests also included attacks by so-called blue hats belonging to al-Sadr, according to what various protesters had previously accused, while al-Sadr repeatedly announced his support for the protesters’ demands, according to Al-Arabiya.
