The meeting was preceded by a meeting with the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, to discuss the developments.
President Aoun:
At the beginning of the meeting of the Supreme Defense Council, President Aoun highlighted the need to extend the general mobilization due to the increase in the number of wounded and deceased, and called for determining the current situation of wounded, dead and vaccines to face the expected third . wave of the Corona epidemic.
President Aoun announced the allocation of 50 per cent of the exceptional allocation to the President of the Republic of the 2021 budget, that is, 50 billion pounds, to be disbursed to those affected by the explosion of the port of Beirut, always to be distributed in accordance with the rules and in coordination with the leadership of the army and the Governor of Beirut.
President Diab:
President Diab pointed out at the beginning of the meeting of the Supreme Defense Council that “every day we see the suffering of the Lebanese people to obtain subsidized goods, while the treatment is with a financing card that provides families with direct support that cancels the support that reaches the people by dropper due to the greed of some merchants and the absence of human conscience ”.
