For his part, the secretary general of the Lebanese Red Cross, George Kittana, said in a call with the agency: “Two bodies and several wounded were transferred to Al-Maqasid Hospital as a result of the explosion of the diesel tank that caught fire this afternoon. in the town of Al-Rifai – Abu Shaker Square – Al-Tariq Al-Jadida, and subsequently The number of victims increased to 4 ”.
A state of confusion and confusion prevailed in front of Al-Makassed Hospital after the wounded were transferred to it.
In turn, the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hamad Hassan, ordered to receive the wounded in the explosion of the new road, under the Ministry.
For his part, Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on Twitter: “We ask Almighty God to be kind to our people and love us on the new path. I offer my deepest condolences and ask that you be cautious and cooperate with the firefighters. and civil defense to face the effects of the explosion, and I also call on young people in particular to comply with the protection obligations of epidemic Corona and lack of assembly in the immediate vicinity of the accident and in front of the Makassed Hospital.
He added that “I am in contact with all the relevant security authorities to find out the causes of the explosion and to follow up on the health status of the wounded and injured, asking God to bless them and the new road safely.”
