For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out that a permanent solution in the eastern Mediterranean requires giving diplomacy a chance.
In a televised speech, Erdogan said at a workshop on the eastern Mediterranean in Antalya: “We cannot sit idly by in the face of developments in the Mediterranean, if a permanent solution to the Mediterranean problem is to be found, diplomacy must have a chance.” .
Erdogan also announced that scientific research indicates the existence of between 3.5 and 10 trillion cubic meters of natural gas in the eastern Mediterranean.
He added that Turkey will not give in to threats, blackmail and expansionist policies in the eastern Mediterranean, believing that it is possible to solve all the problems related to this file, not by exclusion, but by bringing all parties together for dialogue, he said.
