On Sunday, the Egyptian Prosecutor’s Office began investigating the deaths of four Covid-19 patients from lack of oxygen in an isolation hospital in the Nile Delta governorate of Sharkia, according to a judicial official.

“Husseini’s prosecutor’s office in the east (governorate) has summoned the director of the Al Hussainiya hospital to isolate him for questioning about the death of four people due to lack of oxygen,” the official told AFP.

Since Saturday, users of social media platforms have been circulating a video clip showing an intensive care room and patients in beds, while the voice of those filming is heard saying: “Everyone in the care is dead. .. they all died. There is only the nursing staff … God told us and yes, the agent. “

In the 45-second video, nursing staff appeared among those attempting to resuscitate patients and those in a state of collapse.

According to official statistics from the Ministry of Health, Egypt has registered about 141,000 new cases of coronavirus and more than 7,700 deaths.

But officials say the number of injured is higher than that, since only those whose results were positive are registered in the laboratories of the Ministry of Health.

The Egyptian government’s Medicines Authority approved the Chinese vaccine against the emerging corona virus, Egyptian Health Minister Hala Zayed announced on Saturday night.

The first shipment of the vaccine arrived in Egypt in December and included 50,000 doses.

Zayed explained that vaccination with the vaccine will begin when the second batch arrives, which will include 50,000 additional doses, and is expected to arrive between the second and third week of January.
