On Friday, an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale in the Aegean Sea affected the western regions of Turkey, especially Izmir, which suffered more damage than other Turkish states.
AFAD indicated that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Aegean Sea, and it occurred 17 km off the coast of the city of Safrihisar in Izmir state, and at a depth of 16.54 km below the surface of the earth.
The earthquake also hit the Greek island of Samos, killing two students at a school in the city of Vathy, as well as injuring 8 other people.
