To avoid the worst, the Committee on Medical Care in Prisons to Cope with the Coronavirus Epidemic issued a series of recommendations, the main of which is the need to “accelerate trials and use remote electronic questioning in a way that helps alleviate the overcrowding “and” increasing the number of beds in government hospitals to accommodate the ever-increasing numbers “Patients, especially intensive care beds, as only Hrawi hospitals in Zahle and Dahr El-Basheq are currently receiving prisoners with Coronavirus, that are not enough, and it is necessary to increase the number of hospitals as soon as possible ”.
In addition, the committee recommended continuous training on preventive measures for all prison staff, including members of the security forces and medical and nursing staff, by the Union of Doctors.
As for the general requirement, which has become a fundamental need, it is to urgently obtain “the material support of the State for hospitals to prepare for the epidemic in the coming autumn and winter seasons, and to support medical personnel and nursing so that it can fulfill its functions in terms of ensuring the medical and preventive supplies we need in these centers. “
