Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad announced that “the state of public mobilization in the country will last until the 24th of this month.”

Prime Minister Hassan Diab stressed during the cabinet meeting in Baabda that “the Corona epidemic is not yet over.”

Abdel Samad quoted Diab as asking the security services to strictly implement the general mobilization procedures, “otherwise there will be a second wave of the crown that will be more damaging.”

The prime minister expressed fear of the spread of the epidemic, noting that “if it spreads again, the injury rate will be higher.”

Diab emphasized that “the government continues to mobilize, but there are always people who put sticks on wheels, and right now there is no place for any political heresy, there are people who want to continue with the quotas.”

The Information Minister quoted President Michel Aoun stressing that “at this stage our country is passing, efforts must be combined and there are several proposals that must be combined to achieve the objective.”

In another context, the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Ministry of Communications to manage the cellular sector and restore it from the administration of the two operating companies, and extend the “Liban Post” company until the date of 12/31/2020 to prepare in this period a book of conditions and a tender.

Abdul-Samad also indicated that “the issue of appointments was not raised in the session, and is within the authority of the Interior Minister, who has to propose names.”

The cabinet reminded the banks “of the need to fulfill what they promised to transfer the necessary funds to students abroad.”

It was decided during the session to accept an in-kind gift from the company “Google” worth $ 750,000 in the form of advertisements to raise awareness of the “Corona” epidemic.

A draft decree was also approved to grant the High Relief Commission a loan of 150 billion Lebanese pounds from the budget reserve (at the completion of the social plan project that started with £ 75 billion of the total amount of 450 £ 1 billion) to cover the costs of implementing the social plan.
