Calm returned to Stepanakert, The capital of the separatist region, where the sirens sounded before the entry into force of the agreement. Residents began to leave their houses after having to stay with them to protect themselves from the shelling for days.

But before the ceasefire, Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of continuing with the bombings, battles and the launching of missiles and drones.
“A few minutes ago, Azerbaijan bombarded civilian areas in Stepanakert with missiles again,” Artak Bulgarian, mediator of the unilaterally proclaimed republic, said in a tweet on Twitter, explaining that no information on the victims has yet been received.
Bulgarian said: “Baku is using the same method of war crimes until the last minute.”

For its part, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced in a statement that Armenia “is bombing densely populated” areas. The ministry said: “The Armenian armed forces are heavily bombing the regions of Granboy, Tirter, Akkabardi, Fizuli … and Azerbaijan is taking steps to respond in kind.”
A correspondent for the French News Agency heard two explosions on Saturday morning, after Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to a ceasefire.
