In response to the execution of several of the uprising detainees, the youths attacked the General Directorate of Prisons in Lorestan province, western Iran, and burned its entrance.
Iran’s National Council of Resistance said in a statement that youths in the uprising were targeting the Lorestan General Directorate of Prisons, protesting the execution of Nawid Afkarri and Mustafa Salehi, and the death sentences handed down against several of the rebellious youth.
He added that the General Directorate of Prisons is directly responsible for the torture and repression of thousands of prisoners in the Lorestan governorate, and asked that the executioners who run the center be brought to justice for their crimes against humanity.
He noted that the attack on the repression center was welcomed by the citizens, many of whom were subjected to repression and torture inside that center.
This is not the first time that the youth of the uprising has attacked the torture institutions in Iran. Previously, opponents attacked a court building in the southern city of Shiraz, which imposed the execution of fighter Nawid Afkar.
A statement issued by the Mojahedin People’s Organization, which opposes the Iranian regime, revealed that the youths burned the entrance to the court building.
