The Banque du Liban informed the public that, as of December 7, 2020, a new one hundred thousand Lebanese pound note will be put into circulation, on the centenary of the declaration of the State of Greater Lebanon, and was signed by the Governor of the Banque du Liban, Professor Riad Salameh and the First Deputy Governor, Dr. Wassim. He explained, in “Informing the public”, that “the specifications of the new bill are as follows:

1 – Issue date: The issue date of the new ticket is September 1, 2020.

2 – Measurement: The measure of a new bill is the measure of the bill currently in circulation.

3 – Color: The predominant color of the new banknote is green.

4 – Design:
A – On the front of the note, a drawing of Parliament Square known as Nejmeh Square in the middle, and a drawing of the facade of the historic Church of San Juan in Byblos on the left side.

B – On the back of the bill, there is a drawing of the Pigeon Rock and the Phoenician ship.

5 – Security functions:
– The new banknote is made of POLYMER.

– On the face of the banknote there are signs of roughness that stand out to the touch, the most important being the horizontal lines parallel to both sides of the paper, the phrase “Banque du Liban”, the value of the banknote in letters and numbers, the date of issue and a copy of the signature of both the governor of the Banque du Liban and the first deputy governor.

– There is a security feature that includes the “CINEMA” and “VIVID COLOR FULL” technologies that give a three-dimensional movement on the front of the paper to the left, this feature is used for the first time in banknotes.

On the front of the paper on the right is a transparent POLYMER window, in the center of which is a cedar drawing printed with special ink.

The new banknotes are put into circulation together with the banknotes of the same class that are currently circulating.
