On Friday night, the Armenian army launched an air strike against the Azerbaijani cities, “Ganja” and “Minga Chivir”.
This occurred according to a tweet posted by Hikmat Hajiyev, Vice President of Azerbaijan, on his personal account on the social networking site “Twitter”.
“The Armenian army launched a missile attack against Ganja and Minga Chivir,” Hajiyev said in his tweet.
He noted that the raid targeting “Ganja” led to the demolition of buildings, and that there are a large number of civilians under the rubble, noting that rescue work to remove them is continuing.
On September 27, the Azerbaijani army launched an operation in “Karabakh”, in response to an Armenian attack on civilian areas, during which the army succeeded in liberating the city of Gabriel, the city of Hadrut and more than 30 villages.
On October 9, a humanitarian truce was reached in Moscow between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, but Yerevan violated it in less than 24 hours by bombing the city of Ganja, killing and injuring civilians.
On Friday, Baku announced that 47 civilians were killed and another 222 injured in the Armenian bombardment of Azerbaijani residential areas since September 27.
