Twitter announced Monday that it has appointed Beatr Zatko, one of the world’s best cyber hackers, as Chief of Security, to address the persistent threat on its tweet platform and address its security flaws.
It is decided that Zatco will be responsible for the security of the information, the integrity of the site and the physical security of the platform, and will address all actions directed to the misuse of the Twitter site or any manipulation thereof.
Zatko recently oversaw the security of “Unicorn Strip” electronic payments.
Prior to that, he worked on special projects at Google and oversaw grant distribution for cybersecurity projects at the Pentagon’s renowned Defense Research and Projects Agency (DARPA).
Zatco’s career began in the 1990s and he became famous among leading cyber-hacking and defense technology systems specialists.
“I don’t know if anyone can fix Twitter security, but I think Zatco has those capabilities,” said Dan Kaufman, who has supervised Zatco in the past and now heads Google’s advanced products group.
In July, a group of hackers used a rogue “Twitter” and gained access to internal tools, allowing them to change the account and Twitter settings of the accounts of famous figures such as Joe Biden, Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
