The head of the Sudan Sovereignty Council, Abd al-Fattah al-Burhan, said it is not possible to separate the removal of Sudan from the US list of states sponsoring terrorism and normalization with Israel, denying that his country has been targeted of the American blackmail or the pressure of the Gulf countries that printed with Tel Aviv.
In an interview with state television Monday night, al-Burhan added that the agreement with Israel is “a peace agreement in the interest of all parties.”

He indicated that Khartoum would sign an agreement with Tel Aviv on aspects of cooperation in areas including technology, agriculture and migration.

Al-Burhan explained that his country has been greatly affected by the sanctions imposed on it for many years, referring to the sanctions imposed by the United States on Sudan since 1993.

Al-Burhan also said that he consulted with the leader of the nationalist Umma party, Sadiq al-Mahdi, who stipulated that the agreement would be ratified by the Legislative Council.
