“In the Animal World” (A Bestiary) is the title of the group exhibition that Gallery Tanit launched on its website, and will continue until January 30, 2021. At a time when Beirut and its people are still collecting the remains of themselves after the disaster that affected them after the bombing of the port On August 4, 2020, and given the impossibility of a healthy existence due to the current situation, this exhibition emerges as a “deliberate choice, and a means to divert what it remains of us of the suffocating reality that we live today in Lebanon “, as mentioned in the introductory text of the event. Thus, Tanit chose to immerse himself in the animal world, which is a constant artistic theme, if not one of the first, that has continued to express itself widely in the modern era. Visitors will be able to explore tales and legends of imagined animals in a selection of dioramas by Randa Mirza depicting the pre-Islamic myths and clay and bronze myths of Fadi Yazji, as well as Michel Zegzaghi’s images of wild animals in their natural environment, as well such as works by Simon Fattal, Ghassan Zard, David Kraemer, Youssef Abdalki, Sirwan Baran, Osama Baalbaki, and Maya Tabet.
