Following Trump’s recent statements about Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian Foreign Ministry responds, and considers that the US president’s words confirm that his administration is dishonest and outlawed.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said US President Donald Trump’s remarks clearly show “the level to which American political thinking and behavior have descended.”

In a statement on Wednesday, the Syrian Foreign Ministry indicated that Trump’s statements “only indicate a regime of bandits who profess crime to achieve their ends,” considering that “Trump’s recognition of such a step confirms that the US administration is a rogue and outlaw state, which is evidence that His administration used the same methods as terrorist organizations to kill.

The words of the Syrian Foreign Ministry came after the US president’s statements on Tuesday, in which he said that “he had the opportunity to get rid of President Assad, but the former defense minister refused.”

Trump revealed in an interview with “Fox News” that then-Defense Secretary James Mattis was opposed to getting rid of the lion, a likely reference to previously reported discussions “about the response to the alleged chemical attack in 2017,” according to Fox News.
