Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous stated that efforts are being made to reduce the damage caused by the fires and to support people who have been forced to flee their homes.
In Lebanon, more than a hundred fires have also been under control in the forests since Thursday, according to a source from the civil defense agency Agence France-Presse.
Authorities in both countries have yet to reveal the full extent of the damage caused by the fires.
In Israel, the fire brigade reported that the fires caused by the heat wave were brought under control on Friday night.
“After more than 30 hours of fighting them, we have managed to control the main fires, but we have to remain vigilant,” the Israeli fire service said in a statement on Saturday.
