The Syrian Defense Ministry said: “The Israeli enemy launched a missile attack from the north of the Lebanese city of Tripoli towards the Masyaf area.”
In a statement at dawn on Friday, the ministry stated that “the air defense means engaged the enemy missiles and launched most of them.”
The Syrian agency “SANA” reported Friday that explosions were heard in the sky over the Masyaf area, west of Hama.

A security source told “Sputnik” that Syrian air defenses responded to enemy targets who tried to attack the scientific research site in the Masyaf area in the Hama field.
The source said that Israeli jets fired a series of missiles from Lebanese airspace towards the Scientific Research Center in Masyaf, noting that the air defenses responded to most of the missiles before they reached their target.
He added that “according to preliminary information, the damage from the Israeli aggression was limited to materials, and work is currently underway to fully assess the damage.”
