Spain recorded the lowest number of daily deaths from the new Corona virus since mid-March on Sunday, and approximately half of the country’s population is ready to exit the closure state.
Half of the Spanish population is preparing, on Monday, to ease one of the strictest measures of public isolation in Europe, but that does not include residents of cities like Madrid and Barcelona.
The bridges and streets around Madrid Rio Park were filled with cyclists, joggers and horse riders on Sunday, while the park remained closed. A week ago, Spaniards were allowed to go out and exercise while observing the rules of social distance, according to Reuters.
Health emergencies official Fernando Simon said the daily death toll, which was 143, up from 179 yesterday, Saturday, was the lowest since March 18.
Just over half of the 47 million Spaniards will enter the first stage of a four-step plan tomorrow, Monday, after the government decided that the areas in which they lived had met the necessary standards.
As part of facilitating general isolation procedures, up to 10 people will be allowed to gather and people will be able to move freely through the areas where they reside.
Bars, restaurants, and shops in eligible areas may open, but with reduced capacity, museums, gyms, and hotels will open for the first time in approximately two months.
Spain has recorded 223,490 confirmed cases of the Corona virus, including 26,621 deaths, which is one of the highest death rates in the world.
