The world – Palestine
“Yahya Sinwar” … a name that empowers the Zionist leadership and press, since his first election as leader of the “Hamas” movement in the Gaza Strip.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Hamas announced that Yahya Sinwar, head of the movement’s political office in the Gaza Strip, had won a second round.
Sinwar Genesis
Sinwar was born in 1962 in the Khan Yunis refugee camp to a refugee family, whose origins date back to the city of Majdal, located in the south of historic Palestine.
Sinwar traveled to the camp schools, Khan Yunis, until he finished his secondary education at the Khan Yunis Children’s Secondary School, then joined to complete his undergraduate education at the Islamic University of Gaza, to obtain a BA in Arabic language.
During his university studies, he led the Islamic Bloc, the student arm of Hamas. He also worked on the Student Council for five years. He was Secretary of the Technical Committee, Sports Committee, Vice President, then President of the Council, and then Vice President again.
After graduation, he established the Hamas security apparatus, known as “Majd” in 1985, and his work at the time focused on resisting the occupation in the Gaza Strip and fighting his Palestinian collaborators.
Arrests and release
Sinwar was arrested for the first time in 1982, 4 months administratively, and in 1985 he was arrested for 8 months on charges of establishing the Hamas security apparatus known as “Majd”. In 1988 he was administratively arrested, before being transferred for further investigation. and sentenced to 4 life sentences, until he was released in the “Wafa Al-Ahrar” deal in 2011.
During his detention, he was transferred dozens of times between prisons, and spent most of his detention in solitary confinement, and in 1989 Yahya Sinwar was tried, and that day the occupiers closed the roads in Gaza and spread everywhere, and they transferred Yahya under strict security measures. Fearing that it will slip out of their hands.
His brother Hamed, who attended court with his mother only at that time, says: Yahya stood with pride and astonishing firmness, and said to the judges, after they asked him: Do you repent or ask for mercy? He said: “I ask you to rule my execution, so that my blood will be the first blood shed, and that the mujahideen will be a torch.” The mujahid ruled Al-Sinwar for 426 years.
The crime of occupation did not stop with the sentencing of Sinwar for this long period. However, he continued to practice torture and cruelty against him, from isolation to torture and shabeh in all its forms.
The occupation liberated Sinwar in the “Wafa Al-Ahrar” agreement on October 18, 2011, after 24 years in detention, after which he became one of the most prominent leaders of the movement in Gaza and became a member. of his political office. .
In July 2015, Hamas appointed Sinwar responsible for filing its Israeli prisoners and leading any negotiations related to the occupation.
Sinwar is known to have a strong security personality and to appear in public very rarely.
Enemy of “Israel”
Zionist journalist specializing in Palestinian affairs, Avi Sakharov, previously described Sinwar, who had become “Israel’s first enemy in Gaza,” after his development in the prisoner of liberation movement and then a prominent leader to becoming chief. from the political office of “Hamas” in Gaza.
According to Sakharov; Sinwar has strong charisma, and also indicates that he is very tough on his positions and leads what he called the “hawk line” in Hamas, and understands the needs of his movement politically and militarily.
Shortly after being elected Hamas leader in Gaza for the first time, Sinwar began the formation of the National Authority for the Great Marches of Return with national forces and factions.
So Sinwar, along with his brothers and the brigade leadership, worked hard to form a unified national army that translated a long way from the movement’s jihadist vision, and during his reign the movement worked to institutionalize joint national military action through of the common room of the resistance forces.
Sinwar managed, shortly after his victory under the leadership of Hamas in Gaza, to open channels of direct negotiation with Egypt that led to positive results at the level of the Rafah crossing and at the level of the commercial field with Cairo, and calmed the great tension in the relationship.
