During the investigation with him, he retracted his first statements, and confirmed that the victim, with whom he had a relationship for years, called him the student of the meeting, and when he found himself at the abandoned gas station, he beat her until she lost consciousness . The defendant went to the gas station across the street, where he brought a plastic bottle full of gasoline and sprayed Shaima’s body with it, then set it on fire and left the scene.

The victim’s mother sent a letter to President Abdel Majid Tebboune to implement the death penalty and retribution against her daughter, and said in a video posted on social media that she knows the offender and had previously filed a complaint against him. years ago for stalking her daughter.

The mother’s message received widespread solidarity. Voices were raised calling on the Algerian authorities to provide more measures to protect children from kidnapping, especially through more severe penalties, especially the death penalty.
