A statement issued by the General Directorate of Security Forces noted: “After the end of New Year’s Eve, the success of the process of maintaining security and order and the procedures carried out by the Internal Security Forces in several Lebanese territories, as no security incidents were mentioned.
In traffic accidents, one was killed and injured in the Baalbek region and three people were injured in the town of Safad al-Battikh / Nabatiyeh and Corniche al-Bahri / Saida. The brutal and uncivilized shootings in the air resulted in death in the Al-Taybeh district of the Bekaa, and two people were injured in the town of Al-Fayda / Zahle. Investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators and arrest them.
On the occasion, the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, congratulated the personnel involved in the security measures and the implementation of the deployment plan (officers, NCOs and individuals), for the effort they made and the field procedures they carried out, especially on the roads, to facilitate citizens’ affairs, guarantee their comfort and maintain road safety.
Major General Othman also greeted the leaders of the Lebanese army and the leaders of the other security services for the steps they took to maintain security and order on this occasion.
When the Internal Security Forces renew their congratulations to the Lebanese for the new year, they want them to enjoy safety, health and stability.
