The government gradually began to implement measures to reduce public mobilization, but a second “hysterical” wave of the “Corona” virus is still looming in Lebanon, thus life has returned to “almost normal”, while the Evacuation of Lebanese expatriates still exists, especially since The death toll in the past two days is high among arrivals.
In the context, the Ministry of Health announced yesterday the registration of 12 new cases, 6 of which were expatriates (cases from Liberia, Sierra Leone, France and Saudi Arabia) according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health, and 6 of them were residents and they were all contacts. A new death was recorded, bringing the number of deaths to 26.
In addition, the Lebanese Ibrahim Hassan Hassoun, 55, died in Dubai as a result of being infected with the Corona virus. His family in Al-Babliya came to Al-Zahrani with the news of his death.
Regarding the “second wave” of the virus, which is frequently discussed, the adviser to the Minister of Health, Edmond Abboud, said in an interview with “Al-Gomhoria”, that “there is a second wave of the Corona virus, if it doesn’t happen now, it will be early in the fall season with the return of the cold weather. ” “Emphasizing that” we will not end this virus and it will accompany us, but it is not possible to continue with the complete closure of the country, we are gradually opening within a coordinated plan between the ministries so that the situation of the second wave is not very strong and for not destroy the health sector as it happened in countries like Italy and others ».
Abboud noted that “Lebanese must trust their immunity,” calling for “collective immunity” (a form of indirect protection against an infectious disease, and occurs when a large proportion of society gains immunity to a specific infection), noting that ” There is no solution except that citizens become infected and recover gradually, without the health system collapsing, waiting for the vaccine and effective treatment to get rid of this virus.
In the context of the return of the Lebanese, he said: “Both the epidemiological surveillance team, quarantine teams and volunteers receive the planes that regularly accompany the Lebanese expatriate, to avoid any mistake.” He noted that “in theory, if expatriates enter without a PCR test and if quarantine is not complete Over a period of 14 days, injuries will inevitably increase, but to avoid this we are all subject to testing and based on the result, the patient is transferred to the Al-Hariri Hospital or requests those whose results were negative to accompany the quarantine. Hence the importance of complying with the instructions for quarantine and non-mixing for a period of 14 days, and the need for the Ministry to monitor these people effectively, otherwise deployment will be inevitable.
New cut
While 41 cases are reported to have been infected with Corona virus in Akkar Governorate, the Health Ministry medical team took 50 samples in Jdeideh al-Qita`a from people who had mixed with one of the people with HIV , for samples to be examined in the laboratories of the oppressed hospital in Tripoli. In the city of Rahba, the number of HIV cases increased to 4, according to PCR tests that were positive but without health symptoms, all of whom were expatriates in Sierra Leone and Liberia who had recently arrived.
