The Saudi royal court adviser, Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Mutlaq, confirmed the participation of the Lebanese Hezbollah militia and the Yemeni Houthi militia, which are supported by Iran, in drug smuggling operations in Saudi territory.

Al-Mutlaq also described Hezbollah and the Houthis as enemies of Saudi Arabia and seeks to undermine it by attacking its youth with these materials, adding: “Protecting our children from diversion is our responsibility, because they are a trust on our neck.”

Al-Mutlaq’s statements came a few hours before the legitimate government of Yemen announced the arrest of a ship and the arrest of 7 sailors on board, off the coast of Mahra, accused of smuggling, noting that they were found large amounts of narcotics during Yemen Coast Guard searches.

The government also revealed that 6 of the detained sailors have Iranian nationality, while the seventh has Pakistani nationality, noting that the Coast Guard took the ship and sailors to the port of Nishtun, with the aim of completing the investigations and security measures on the seized ship.

It should be noted that the Yemeni army had previously announced that it had seized several drug shipments belonging to the Houthi militia between the governorates of Ma’rib and Al-Bayda, and explained that this amount was hidden by a truck in an attempt to smuggle it. to the Houthi militia in Sana’a.
