Saudi singers launched a scathing attack on Kuwaiti comedian Haya Al-Shuaibi over a photo of the late Emir of Kuwait, which she posted through her “Snapchat” app account.
Al-Shuaibi published a series of photographs after the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, with Arab leaders. One such photo enraged the Saudis and led them to launch the hashtag “Haya Al-Shuaibi insulting Saudi Arabia” on the social networking site “Twitter.”
The image shows the late Emir of Kuwait with the current Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with the phrase “Oh God, he was a champion of truth, an enemy of falsehood, God have mercy on him with your mercy”.
Saudi tweeters considered the photo offensive to their country, considering it indicates that Qatar is in the right place and Saudi Arabia is in a false position in the current Gulf dispute between the two sides.
Al-Shuaibi also posted another photo of the Emir of Qatar who attended the funeral of the late Emir of Kuwait, with the phrase “And yes, the neighbor.”
It is noteworthy that Kuwait was at a distance in the crisis between Qatar on the one hand and Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Bahrain on the other, and its Emir, who died a few days ago, tried to solve this crisis on more than one occasion.
