On Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stressed the need to consult with the Gulf states on any new nuclear deal between Iran and the United States.
In an interview with Agence France-Presse in Manama, Bin Farhan expressed his confidence that full consultation with the Gulf states is the only way to conclude a sustainable agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
The Saudi minister said: “Basically what we hope is that they will consult us fully and that our regional friends will be consulted fully on what is happening in relation to the negotiations with Iran.”
Regarding the Gulf crisis, Bin Farhan stressed that a breakthrough in resolving the current crisis since 2017 between Qatar and the four countries is imminent, emphasizing that Riyadh’s allies are “on the same page” regarding settlement of the dispute and a final agreement is expected soon.
Bin Farhan indicated that all interested parties will participate in the final solution, saying that Riyadh is fully cooperating regarding this process and sees “very positive possibilities for reaching a final agreement”, adding that the Kingdom “envisions a solution that covers all aspects and satisfies all interested parties. ” , Which indicates that it will happen “soon”.
Bin Farhan noted that negotiations on a broader reconciliation are underway, although Abu Dhabi and Manama are still expected to participate in efforts to resolve the crisis.
