The ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations affirmed that Saudi Arabia is the source of instability in the region, and considered the Wahhabi ideology as the main inspiration for ISIS and Al Qaeda, noting that Saudi Arabia is the main funder of these terrorist groups with their oil dollars.
This came in a statement by the Iranian delegate in response to the Saudi king’s accusations against Iran in his speech during the United Nations General Assembly meeting, regarding these accusations as unfounded and totally rejected. He said that Saudi Arabia is completely desperate to accuse others of diverting attention from its dark and distant past into broad support for terrorism and propagation. Extremist beliefs, spreading hypocrisy and hatred, taking destabilizing measures, and their crimes in the ongoing aggression against Yemen for 6 years.
He added that it is fully proven that Saudi Arabia, as a source of instability in the region, was the main financier of Saddam, the dictator of Iraq in his eight-year war of aggression against Iran, during which he committed countless crimes, one of which it was the use of chemical weapons against Iranian and Iraqi cities and citizens.
“Today it has also become quite clear that the Saudi Wahhabi ideology is the main inspiration for the most dangerous terrorist groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda, and that Saudi Arabia is the main funder of these groups with its oil dollars,” said Takht Rawanji.
And Iran’s delegate to the United Nations said that another prominent example of Saudi Arabia’s destabilizing regional measures are its massacres and arbitrary practices in its 6-year aggression against Yemen, which has only resulted in the murder of women and children, the destruction of homes, mosques, schools and hospitals, and even the target of funerals and weddings.
He added that these crimes against Yemeni children were so cruel that the United Nations Organization included Saudi Arabia in the list of countries that kill children in the world, although his name was later removed from this list for completely unprofessional reasons.
“Despite all these crimes committed by Saudi Arabia in clear violation of international laws, which demand international responsibility for them, it continues, in a completely inhuman step, using the tool of hunger as a method of war, in addition to preventing the sending of fuel, food and medicine to the people of Yemen, “said Takht Rawanji.
The Iranian ambassador indicated that security and peace are not achieved by relying on foreign powers that seek only to achieve their interests and sell their weapons, but through sincere dialogues with the participation of all the countries of the region on the basis of mutual respect and adherence to the basic principles of international law. Peace is the “hope” to establish peace and stability in the Persian Gulf region, and it calls on Saudi Arabia to respond positively to such a request for the sake of a comprehensive regional dialogue.
