Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, during his meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Reconciliation of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah, said: “Iran has supported the government and people of Afghanistan throughout the period of its exposure to foreign attacks and expects May sustainable peace and security prevail in this country. ”
Rouhani added: “It is important that the Afghan people have a real peace to preserve their achievements, and achieving this requires political dialogue and discussions between the Afghan parties.”
The Iranian president affirmed that the US government, “which has failed to achieve its policies at the regional and global level, seeks to invest in the Afghan peace negotiations in favor of its next presidential elections.”
Rouhani indicated that Iran “is ready to connect the gas pipeline and oil derivatives with Afghanistan, so that the Afghan people can benefit from it.”
For his part, Abdullah told the Iranian president that his country considers the Iranian republic “a good friend and neighbor” of Afghanistan, adding that he will convey the message of Iranian support to Kabul, and “I will follow the consensus between the two countries.” .
