The government has also deployed increased numbers of troops to hundreds of checkpoints to implement a decision made last Thursday to advance the start of the curfew from midnight to 10 p.m.
Authorities say the main cause of the latest wave of injuries is people violating movement restrictions.
Under the new rules, anyone who doesn’t wear a mask in public can be fined up to 100 dinars ($ 140), a hefty fine in a relatively poor country where the pandemic has driven unemployment to record highs.
The Kingdom, which has a population of about 10 million, recorded 380,268 coronavirus cases and 4,627 deaths.
