Questions about spying on Instagram to its users

One of the “Instagram” users considered that the famous Facebook photo application is spying on him, after he showed him an advertisement for a bedroom similar to his.

According to Vincenzo Tiani, he and his girlfriend were “almost paralyzed” for minutes after seeing a paid advertisement on Instagram that showed a room very similar to theirs.

Tiani explained that the announcement came about a week after he had spoken with his girlfriend about the need to buy a locker to put in the room, according to the “Daily Mail.”

And Tiany pointed out that the ad that appeared on his girlfriend’s phone was for a small locker, similar to the one in their room, which raised suspicions that they had Instagram spying on them.

Other users shared stories similar to those that happened with Tiani, and one said that Instagram reminds me of the ads for series and movies that I originally saw on “Netflix.”

Tech experts confirm that a number of social media apps collect user data, including their internet searches, with the aim of presenting it to advertisers, who in turn design precisely targeted ads.

The researchers also believe that with the development of technology and the emergence of innovations like “personal voice assistants” like “Siri” and “Alexa,” some conversations that take place via smart devices are also stored for use.
