The president called on Aoun, the House of Representatives to “cooperate with the procedural authority in order to allow the State to perform the audit of bank accounts of criminal accounting in Lebanon, and the withdrawal of this audit from all its international criteria, in the other public facilities of the state in order to achieve the reform of the required programs and aid to the needs of Lebanon in its current and suffocating state, So that Lebanon does not become, God forbid, among rogue states or failed in the eyes of the international community, with the serious repercussions derived from the fall of the Lebanese state in the prohibition of non-disclosure, accountability and accountability, after identifying the sources of financial waste and corruption that was spent in money private and public funds. together “.
President Aoun asked that this message be discussed in the House of Representatives “in accordance with the principles and that the position, procedure or decision be adopted in this regard,” noting “the need for cooperation with the executive authority that does not prevent business management makes appropriate decisions when urgent. “
In his message to the Chamber of Deputies, President Aoun presented, “The stages that passed with the approval of the forensic accounting audit since last March 24 and the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers in this regard, which led to the hiring with the company “Álvarez y Marsal” to carry out the criminal audit task in compliance with the decision of the Cabinet. He highlighted the obstacles that arose that prevented the company from carrying out its mission, especially the issue of bank secrecy and avoiding the delivery of the required documents and information despite the legal protection that was provided for this delivery, to the point that the company requested the termination of the contract on 11/20/2020.
President Aoun considered that “what happened constitutes a serious setback for the logic of the State and the interests of the Lebanese people, which suffers from a monetary, economic, social and suffocating crisis, inherited, reproductive and aggravating, among which are in particular the pandemic of Corona and the explosion of the port of Beirut “.
