His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, expressed his solidarity with the victims of the forest fires in the United States and Latin America, which caused droughts in some of them, while others were deliberate.
“I would like to express my closeness to the people affected by the fires that are destroying many areas of the earth, as well as to the volunteers and firefighters who risk their lives to put out the fires,” Pope Francis said at the end of Sunday prayers.
“I think of the West Coast of the United States, especially California, and I also think of the central regions of South America and Argentina,” added the Pope of the Catholic Church, who came from Argentina.
He explained that many of the fires are caused by constant droughts, but there are also those caused by humans.
Pope Francis, who often raises the question of environmental protection, concluded: “May the Lord support all those who suffer the consequences of these disasters and make us eager to preserve creation.”
“The land must be cultivated, cared for, cultivated and protected,” he said Saturday in a message posted on the “TED” platform, which specializes in spreading ideas.
