US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States has included two top officials from Iran’s Intelligence and Security Ministry on the sanctions list.
Pompeo said in a tweet via Twitter that “these two officials are involved in the kidnapping, arrest and possible death of former FBI agent Robert Levinson,” and emphasized that “we will not hesitate to pursue those who played a role in his disappearance.”
Today, the United States is appointing two senior officials from Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security who were involved in the kidnapping, detention and probable death of Robert Levinson. We will not cease in the persecution of those who played a role in his disappearance.

The United States Department of the Treasury announced that it had blacklisted Muhammad Basiri and Ahmed Khazaee, two of the top officials of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), who participated in the abduction of Robert A. Levinson in the Iranian island of Kish on March 9, 2007.
