In an unprecedented move, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that he would visit the occupied Syrian Golan today, Thursday, accusing the BDS movement of anti-Semitism.

At a joint press conference with the prime minister of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, Pompeo said: “Today I will have the opportunity to visit the Golan Heights.”

He added: “It was also President Trump’s decision (in 2019) to recognize it as part of Israel. It was a historic decision, and it is a de facto recognition.”

The US Secretary of State referred to Trump’s decision to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, describing it as a “simple step that some warned would trigger war, but led to peace.” , said.

Pompeo expressed his belief that other Arab countries will follow the example of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan in normalizing relations with Israel, saying: “It is time for the countries of the region to consider Israel as a partner, and these movements towards the achievement of peace will continue. “

On the other hand, he described the BDS movement as “cancer” and confirmed that Washington would classify it as “anti-Semitic.”

Pompeo also renewed the attack on Iran, stressing that there is no easing of the maximum pressure policy on Tehran.

Notably, Pompeo’s visiting schedule also includes a visit to the Basjot settlement, near Ramallah in the West Bank.
