The General Directorate of the Personal State issued the following statement:

Three days after the announcement of the launch of the project for the issuance of electronic records, some of those who chose not to get on the train of progress and improve services to citizens wanted to continue their attempts to eradicate this project and get rid of it, so that he could rest to what he is used to in a reality that improves his personal conditions and returns the citizen and the country to his back.

Some have taken advantage of an internal memorandum from the Director General of Personal Status, to support themselves and publish it through social networks and the media, which fell into the trap of fabricated news, as part of their effort to deliver information to citizens .

Therefore, it is important that the General Directorate of Personal Status clarifies the following:

1- All news related to citizenship, their rights and duties regarding the way in which they obtain their procedures facilitated by the General Directorate of Personal Status, is issued by it or by its General Director, and through the media in which the Management trusts to continue treating it in a transparent manner.

2- Whoever wants to destroy the project only three days after its launch, based on an internal memorandum issued by the Director General to the employees of the Registry of Souls, will intentionally mislead and misrepresent the information.

The memorandum clearly refers to the request to “stop electronic scanning” from next Monday, and not to stop work to eliminate electronic registration. As for the difference between the two, it is that the work to eliminate the registration did not stop, since today hundreds of electronic registration outputs were issued (although Saturday is an official holiday) in many governorates and regions, especially in the corrals of the souls of the lions, Hermel, Ashmatar, Zahle and the Western Bekaa, in order to meet Citizen Needs.

As for electronic scanning, it aims to keep electronic copies on file for return when necessary. And since some employees, despite the training program they underwent, still have no experience in performing this task, they were asked to stop working on electronic scanning for a few days until they mastered the realization.

3- The manufactured and distorted filtration of the content of the internal circular does not denote good intention towards the work of the Directorate and the citizens and the efforts that are being made to take Lebanon to a stage that qualifies it to keep up with the times and its requirements, but assure us that the removal of the electronic record has been achieved so that the work continues and does not stop. Improve and enhance it for the benefit and comfort of the citizen.

4- Finally, the General Directorate of Personal Condition wishes that the media that appreciate and praise its role, communicate with the management on any issue related to the work of this directorate, so that it can have official and truthful information.
