Pennsylvania Secretary of State Cathy Bukfar announced that the state could declare the winner of the presidential election by late Thursday.
“It appears that by today we will finish counting the majority of the remaining votes (in Pennsylvania),” Bukfar said in a statement to CNN.
A fierce electoral battle is raging between US President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, in the state where Trump is still slightly ahead.
According to Associated Press statistics, Trump is still ahead of 3,232,131 votes (50.3 percent), over Biden, who has raised 3,120,731 (48.6 percent) so far.
For his part, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stephen, predicted Thursday that the US president would get an additional 200,000 votes in Pennsylvania.
And the campaign of the president of the United States obtained 214 votes in the electoral college, while his rival, Joe Biden, obtained 253 votes, after the results were announced in many states, so far.
The Associated Press and Fox News reported that Biden won Arizona, giving him an additional 11 votes.
There are states that continue to count the votes with the succession of absent votes, an issue that was controversial before and after election day.
