He affirmed that “the role of the Holy See is to stand firm by its side, as it has always been with Lebanon, because it is a country worthy of life and survival, for the good and the best of the Middle East and the world.” He closely. And he asked Parolin to transfer his renewed invitation to the Pope to visit Lebanon.

The envoy of the Supreme Pontiff, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, met in Bkerke with the Catholic Patriarchs of the East. After the visit, he said: “We listened to the Patriarch’s proposal regarding neutrality, and it is important that Lebanon is isolated from external conflicts and that it preserves its identity and role in the Middle East and throughout the world.”

Before returning to Rome, he inspected the town of Karantina and the headquarters of the Beirut Fire Brigade, where he expressed condolences for the victims on behalf of the Pope. He visited the affected area, beginning with the Lebanese immigrant memorial, and met with various families of the victims. He also visited the Hospital Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Gemmayze) and participated in a mass celebrated by the Sisters of the Rosary at the entrance of the hospital, then went to the School of the Sacred Heart (Frere) and visited the Lebanese Hospital (Jeitaoui).
