Last night, the area of Tariq al-Jadida and its surroundings experienced hours of tension as a result of the armed confrontation that took place Among Bahaa Hariri’s supporters, those affiliated with the Future Movement, and caused one death and several injuries. The Al-Tariq Al-Jadidah clash started with an individual dispute two days ago between Musa Al-Karambi, a Baha Hariri supporter, and Alaa Shshaniya (a Palestinian citizen) affiliated with the Future Movement. This dispute caused great tension in the region, which was fueled by the conflict between the two brothers (Baha and Saad) for months. Last night the dispute resumed. Young men from the town of Abu Sahl in Tariq al-Jadida (the town where Shishniyeh lives) came to the club owned by Issa al-Karambi, Musa’s father, with whom the dispute arose. The last two are loyal to Baha Hariri. There was a fist clash, which soon turned into an armed clash, in which Taha al-Karambi, Issa al-Karambi’s nephew, was killed. The engagement started again. Al-Akhbar called Musa al-Karambi, who answered only two sentences: “Taha’s blood will not be wasted. My cousin’s blood is on Saad Hariri’s goatee.” Al-Akhbar also contacted Chechnya, who replied that he was in great pain as a result of the stabbing and was unable to speak.
Yesterday’s disagreement was an inevitable result of tension in the town of Tariq al-Jadidah, as the Karambi family declared their loyalty to Bahaa Hariri and parted ways with their former leader Saad Hariri. This provoked the Futurists, who went to great lengths to try to get them back, but were unsuccessful. While the dispute that occurred two days ago is individual, its political nature in the context of the conflict between Baha and Saad. The sources claimed that the most prominent activist on the ground in the Future Movement axis is lawyer Muhammad Yammate, who accused him of being behind the mobilization on the ground. However, dying in connection with “Al-Akhbar”, he denied what is attributed to him and the Future Movement. He said: “I am a lawyer and I serve all the youth of Tariq al-Jadidah. They have adopted a political line to ‘meddle’, I am a service provider that helps youth, but I have nothing to do with the land.
I am from the Future Movement and I represent it, but we do not accept what is happening on the ground ”. In his comment on the incident, he added: “There was an effort to resolve the problem between Alaa and Issa, but I don’t know what happened. The dispute is individual and must be resolved ”. He concluded by underlining: “We call for unity. There must be reconciliation between all the people on the new path. “
Bahaa Al-Hariri issued a statement calling for calm, investigations and the trial of those involved in the confrontation.
