A French judicial source said on Saturday that the 18-year-old attacker in the Paris suburb was of Chechen origin and was born in Moscow.

And as quoted by “France Press” from the source, five other people were arrested in the framework of the investigation into the murder of a teacher by beheading in France.

The Prosecutor for the Fight against Terrorism in France announced on Friday that it had opened an investigation following the beheading of a history professor in Conflans Saint-Honorine, near the capital, Paris.

The Public Ministry said that the investigation of the events that occurred around 5 in the afternoon near a school was opened on charges of committing a “crime linked to a terrorist act” and a “terrorist criminal group.”

Police officers from the Conflans-Saint-Honorine criminal department, 50 kilometers northwest of Paris, received a call to pursue a suspect who was wandering around an educational institution, according to the prosecution.

At the scene, the police found the victim, two hundred meters away, in the Iranian town, and tried to arrest a man carrying a knife and threaten them, then they shot and killed him.

The site was cordoned off and personnel from the demining department were transferred on suspicion of an explosive belt and, after the incident, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan, who was in Morocco, decided to return immediately to Paris.

French police explained that the man who was attacked was a history teacher who recently showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in a class on freedom of expression.

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron said a man massacred a history teacher who was showing his students at the preparatory school cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. This attack was aimed at hitting freedom of expression.

“The citizen was killed today because he was a teacher and because he taught the students freedom of expression. The whole country supports the teachers. The terrorists will not divide France … the obscurantism will not win,” Macron added, near the school where the teacher was assassinated.
