Ogero announced that it will adopt the local code 2 for telephone subscribers that are programmed in the IMS network, so the new numbering for IMS subscribers will be the following:

Talal Hawat, issued Decree 1/666 “Numbering of subscribers in the IMS network, as part of the implementation of the FTTX and LTE project, which provides for the gradual transfer of subscribers from the old exchanges to the IMS network and the gradual replacement of the symbol (0) by the symbol (2) for subscribers. Hawat explained that “this step is part of continuing to develop and modernize the telecommunications sector and move to digital transformation technologies and triple operation technology (voice, video and data) in all Lebanese regions, especially those that do not have networks coppermade”.

“Based on the development plan for this network in line with new technologies, Ogero’s teams will gradually transfer the lines of modern FTTX fiber optic subscribers to the IMS platform, which will provide them with high-quality voice services, and later the old PSTNs will be put out of service ”, he said.

Hawat noted that “citizens outside the coverage of the copper network who will be connected to the fiber optic network can benefit from these high-quality services without the need for the old PSTNs or associated copper networks. The contact numbers of the subscribers in the fiber optic network will be gradually updated as a result of Going to the IMS platform by replacing the symbol 0 with the symbol 2, as they will be notified in advance.

He explained that “he will follow up with all interested parties on the modernization plan of the current terrestrial communications network.

According to the authority, the new numbers will be programmed in the network, and for this the groups of numbers currently assigned to fixed line subscribers will be used, replacing the symbol 0 by the symbol 2, and preserving the current logical distribution of the numbers.

The codes will look like this: 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, instead of 01, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09.
