On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the signing of the first memorandum of understanding between Israel and the United Arab Emirates in the field of banking and money.

“These understandings will help us boost investments. We will soon announce other understandings in the fields of aviation, tourism and commerce,” Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office.

Netanyahu’s remarks came a day after a plane carrying an American and Israeli delegation arrived on a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi, as part of a visit to discuss cooperation between the two parties after the conclusion. of the peace treaty.

The delegation led by Jared Kushner, adviser to US President Donald Trump for the Middle East, met with various representatives of different sectors in Israel and with various representatives of government agencies in the United Arab Emirates to discuss the prospects for relations, enhance joint action. and discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two countries as a result of the peace treaty.

The delegation was received by the Emirati National Security Advisor, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the presence of the Emirati Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

On Monday, the US embassy in Abu Dhabi praised an Israeli-US delegation’s visit to the UAE capital to discuss cooperation, describing it as “making history.”
