The Swiss company “Nestlé” affirmed its commitment to “guarantee the supply of basic food and beverages to the Lebanese market.”

It stated in a statement that it “established its first operations in the Middle East in Lebanon in 1934, and currently employs more than 600 people in sales, marketing, distribution and in two water bottling plants in the country.”

After committing to “overcome the lira exchange rate hurdles and bank restrictions, which imposed import challenges and increased operating costs,” its CEO in Lebanon, Nimatullah Yunus, thanked consumers who trusted the Nestlé brands, such as: Nido, Maggie, Nescafé and Kit Kat, through booming and difficult decades. “

Yunus said: “Despite the deterioration in the Lebanese pound exchange rate and the shortage of the US dollar in the Lebanese market, the collection price of Nestlé, the outstanding US dollar exchange rate of bill payments, remained flat. changes for more than five months, at £ 1,517 per dollar, until February 10, the company had to adjust the pickup price to match market conditions, always keeping the pickup price lower than the current price, and keep product prices in US dollars as they were.

He concluded: “We remain committed to Lebanese consumers, and we hope that the Lebanese pound exchange rate will improve, so that we can lower the collection price again.”
