Beirut – Omar Habanjar

The results of the US presidential elections were decided, while the Lebanese government remained hanging on the wall of waiting, without the benefit of attempts to revive the French initiative, through artificial respiration, represented by a certain flexibility, in front of the supervisor of the government process linked to external factors.

Right now, the political parties, playing in the Lebanese arena, are exchanging “Donkshot” roles. One team exaggerates its insistence on the “criminal scrutiny” of the causes of the collapse of state finances, and another is silent, waiting to hear the screams of the other first, and the third killed the “criminal investigation” and then walked away. funeral, began slapping and crying for the “martyr” of oppressed corruption. In the end, everyone gathered in a room that accepts condolences. The President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, was the only one who stayed away from this choir, to send a message to the House of Representatives, which is the second of his term, confirming the desire to carry out a criminal investigation, and God testify In his message, Aoun emphasized that “cooperation must be made with the procedural authority to allow the state to carry out forensic accounting audits of the Bank of Lebanon accounts, and the audit must be withdrawn to all state public facilities to achieve the desired reform and the aid programs that Lebanon needs today. “

Aoun addressed the deputies saying: “The forensic accounting audit is necessary so that Lebanon does not become one of the dishonest or failed countries in the eyes of the international community. And he considered that “what happened is a serious setback for the logic of the State and the interests of the Lebanese people, and the forensic audit has become a prerequisite for the State’s negotiation with the International Monetary Fund, and the loss of confidence in the State and its authorities and institutions will not be limited to the interior, but will become a necessity for the international community. “

Aoun demanded that this letter be discussed in the House of Representatives in accordance with the principles and that a position, procedure or decision be taken in this regard, pointing out the need for cooperation with the procedural authority “which does not prevent the business management from taking appropriate decisions when urgent. “

For his part, the President of Parliament, Nabih Berri, called a plenary session next Friday to discuss the content of the president’s message to take the appropriate position, action or decision. Berri also decided to complement the theater with a new contract, to ensure the continuation of the waiting process, calling the parliamentary committees to a meeting to discuss a new electoral law based on relativism, which resulted in the compliance of the Christian parties and currents , of “forces”, a free movement and brigades that considered such an invitation at this early moment of the elections, a kind of “zakat” for the defenders of the criminal scrutiny of the accounts of the Bank of Lebanon.

Yesterday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presented its vision of the situation in Lebanon, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, saw in his answer to a question during an interview with the American journalist Hadley Gamble on the Kingdom’s support for President Saad Hariri in the past, and believes that he is the right man to lift Lebanon out of its crisis, said: “The matter is not related to an individual, but there is a real change in the way in which the Lebanese body politic works “.

He added: “We now have a case where the regime in Lebanon is primarily focused on providing cover for Hezbollah, undermining the state entirely. The state is plagued with corruption and mismanagement as a result of one party’s control over it. It is an armed militia that can impose its will on any government, therefore I believe that without structural reforms that address this basic problem, individuals are not the problem ”.

He believed that “the most important thing Lebanon can do is help itself”, and stressed that “Lebanon deserves to be one of the most prosperous countries in the region, but it needs good government.” The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, joined the demands of the Lebanese leaders to accelerate the formation of a new government capable of implementing reforms and responding to the wishes of the Lebanese people. But who does Guterres read a bet on? If the United Nations Secretary-General were fair, he would turn to the leaders of the countries who direct the wills of the Lebanese leaders lost in the jungle of the game of nations based on their land.
