“National” virus counter: all infections are local

Yesterday, the Minister of the Interior and Municipalities, Muhammad Fahmy, exempted nine villages and towns from the total closure, after examinations carried out by the medical teams of the Ministry of Public Health revealed that they were out of danger, while they preserved the seventy localities that still registered a high number of wounded. A new decision is expected to be issued later this week to determine a fourth batch of closures, especially as this step is the last step in the fight against the Corona virus.

However, despite these measures, the situation does not seem to be going well with the increase in injuries that the Corona metro registers every day, which reached 1,241 injured yesterday, all of them local, while the death count registered 5 victims. With these numbers, the total number of injuries becomes 35,107. In addition, the Ministry of Public Health, in a statement circulated yesterday, warned citizens that “entities use the official logo of the ministry and send messages to arrivals in Lebanon that include results of PCR tests not issued by the ministry.” . The airport “which depends on text messages for everyone, whether the result is negative or positive, in addition to the contact of the medical teams of the Ministry of Public Health with whom their test results were positive.
On the other hand, news is emerging from the prisons, which today are a time bomb that can explode at any time, given the confusion experienced by those concerned about prison conditions. In this sense, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces provided the latest “coordinates” on health conditions in the four main prisons (Roumieh, Zahle, Batroun and Douma), where the number of wounded reached 701, while one death was recorded for an elderly prisoner suffering from chronic diseases. Perhaps “good luck” here is what prevents the explosion, since according to the same statement, the number of those who are in the hospital under treatment is very small, while the recovery cases are many, and has reached 381 cases of 445 in Roumieh prison, and the total number of cases in Zahle. And the amount of 235.
