Nasrallah: We are committed to what the state determines when demarking the borders with Israel

Beirut: Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah said Wednesday that he was satisfied with the “humiliating fall” of US President Donald Trump, but urged regional allies to distrust any American or Israeli “stupidity” for the remainder of his mandate.

Nasrallah described the Trump administration as “one of the worst, if not the worst,” in the United States, but said the new US president would not change Washington’s pro-Israel policies in the Middle East.

This is how he arrived in a televised speech by Nasrallah, on Wednesday night, to talk about the commemoration of the “Martyrs Day”, in which he discussed a series of files, among which he highlighted the demarcation of the maritime borders with Israel, the Israeli maneuver, the results of the American elections and the American sanctions.

Border demarcation

On the issue of demarcation, Nasrallah emphasized that “the resistance is committed to what the Lebanese state determines regarding the issue of demarcation, and therefore helps the Lebanese army to liberate any occupied land.” “Since liberation, we have said that demarcation of the borders has nothing to do with us, because this task is the responsibility of the State that decides where the land and sea borders of Lebanon are,” he said, explaining that “as a consequence of the presence of oil, the conversation about the demarcation of the maritime borders with occupied Palestine began in a dynamic way. ” He noted that “it was President Nabih Berri who was managing the negotiation efforts, and we, as a resistance, had agreed to carry out the demarcation to begin drilling for oil.” He stressed that “the negotiations are to demarcate the borders only and not for any other introduction. Previously we have emphasized the need to limit the issue of border demarcation to the technical issue only.” He noted that “some have tried to link the issue of border demarcation as the beginning of normalization with Israel, and this is a pointless talk and its goal. Covering up the normalization that the Arab countries are doing with the Israeli entity ”, emphasizing that“ the talk about Hezbollah’s approach to normalization with Israel is mere lies and fraud and does not deserve to be denied by us ”.

Nasrallah spoke about the management of the negotiation file with President Michel Aoun, and “We have full confidence in His Excellency the President, and we know his toughness and his enthusiasm for national security and the achievement of Lebanon’s rights, and we are not in agreement with President Aoun that the Lebanese delegation be military, as well as the Israeli delegation, for the sake of That there should be no indication or suspicion, “but added,” We have confidence in the president, and the Lebanese delegation is committed to the controls, and President Aoun directs it his way, and we care that Lebanon gets its rights. ”He added,“ The Lebanese delegation must know that it has elements of strength and is not in a position of weakness. whoever wants to prevent us from benefiting from our oil, we can avoid it in return ”.

An Israeli maneuver

Nasrallah referred to the recent Israeli maneuver, which spoke of Israel’s willingness to do something in Lebanon or the Golan. In this context, he said, “The resistance in Lebanon is moving Israel for the first time from the site of the attack to the site of the defense.” “The enemy’s insistence on maneuvering confirms a fact that Israeli generals have always talked about, which is that the Israeli ground forces are suffering a real and deep crisis, and there is a crisis of readiness and a crisis of officers and combatants on a psychological level. and spiritual “. And he considered that the Israeli naval force “will be more defenseless than the previous one, and that the air force alone is incapable of achieving a victory or resolving a battle.” He revealed: “The resistance in Lebanon was in a state of alert and ready, so if Israel thought of committing something foolish, our response would be swift,” noting that “it was a mobilization of the resistance without the Lebanese people in the villages and peoples felt nothing and this is what distinguishes this resistance “.

American elections

Regarding the US elections, Nasrallah expressed his joy at the “humiliating fall of Trump as a result of his crimes and the assassination of the great leader Qassem Soleimani.” But he said, “Our misfortune in the region is that American policy is Israeli policy, and it is one of the constants of the American president, whether Republican or Democratic. Therefore, putting hope in American policies in the next stage is self-deception “. He added: “With Trump’s departure, one of the three sides of the Deal of the Century, which he represents, will fall, along with Netanyahu and Bin Salman.” He called, “the axis of resistance, a high readiness to respond to a terrible impact in case of any American or Israeli stupidity”, considering that “all possibilities are open during these two months, and I ask the resistance to be alert. , alert and ready to face any danger. “

The Hezbollah secretary general addressed the issue of US sanctions “after their attempts to cause discord failed” and said: “On the day that Saad Hariri was detained in Saudi Arabia, the aim was to target the weapons of the resistance and the project failed. ” He emphasized that the Americans started their project 3 years ago to incite the atmosphere of resistance against them. After accusing the US embassy of being “the one that directed and financed non-governmental civil societies”, he offered to impose sanctions and said: “With respect to Hezbollah, they imposed the sanctions that you want, and this is not given or delayed , and we have no money abroad.
