The late Syrian actor participated in more than seventy series
This morning, actor Nabil Al-Halawani died in a hospital in Damascus. The late actor used to film his scenes in the series “Bab Al Hara 11” with the character of “Abu Sayyah”, before discovering a few months ago that he had an incurable disease and his condition was rapidly deteriorating. Al-Halawani has more than 70 series on Syrian drama, including “Brothers of the Dust” (written by Hassan M. Yusef and directed by Najda Ismail Anzour), “Behind the Walls” (directed by Salem Al-Kurdi and written by Hani Al-Saadi) and “Forbidden Bread” (written by Marwan Kawouk and directed by Tamer Ishaq) and other well-known Syrian works. The Syrian actor began his artistic career on stage and participated in various shows. His first television work was an evening entitled “The Dust of Al-Zarya”, directed by Mohamed Al-Shalyan. At the cinema, he participated in two films: “Dreams of the City” (directed by Muhammad Malas in 1984) and “Dreamy Visions” (directed by Monk Oasis in 2003). For its part, the Damascus Artists’ Union mourned the deceased. It is noteworthy that “Bab Al-Hara” had lost several of its stars in recent years, led by superstar Wafiq Al-Zaeem (1960-2014), who played the role of Abu Hatim, and actor Tony Moussa (1954 -2020).
