In a period of two weeks, the percentage of positive exams exceeded 5% in Lebanon, which is the rate that must not be exceeded for 14 days in a row before opening the different sectors of the country. Two days ago, this percentage exceeded the 12% threshold with the registration of 1280 injured, and also exceeded it yesterday, with the Ministry of Health announcing the registration of 1,012 injured and seven deaths, while the option to return to full closure did not it seems possible in the country suffering an unprecedented economic crisis.
At the dawn of autumn, the “birthplace” of seasonal influenza, Lebanon entered the stage of daily infections by the thousands, after the virus infiltrated all districts without exception and spread to several regions, before the absence of exceptional measures to reduce laxity in the application of preventive measures and to bet on the behavior of residents.
At a time when the data indicate a lack of progress in health and logistics capacities at the national level due to the absence of strategic plans that should have been completed more than six months ago, it seems that the decentralization work will be strengthened in the coming days, with each municipality and region concerned about its casualties. Local authorities, in cooperation with the close community, are currently taking on the tasks of monitoring the isolation of the injured and assigning them quarantine centers, as well as coordinating the conduct of CRP examinations for contacts and other measures that are putting pressure on the team. of the Ministry of Health. The activity of the crisis cells in the regions is nothing more than a proof of dedication to work “in part” after the inhabitants of Lebanon sensed the danger derived from the worrying epidemiological reality.
Right now, the pressure on health sector institutions is increasing. According to the official figures announced, the occupancy rate for intensive care beds exceeded 65% and the total occupancy rate for hospital beds reached 63%.

In terms of recovery cases, 655 people have recovered during the last 24 hours, bringing the number of currently active cases to 19,818.
