He stressed that “the basic issues in the life of the Lebanese citizen, such as medicine and flour, are a red line for us.”

Diab added: “We are trying to streamline support as much as possible to maintain the remaining cash reserve stock for a longer period.” He noted that the government is studying the idea of ​​the support card with donors, noting that “the support has been misused and we have proposed the ration card project since last June, to become The support is intended only for people who they need it “.

Diab stressed that “he will work to achieve a vision that solves the crisis of subsidies, in cooperation with the Banque du Liban and the parliamentary committees to move to the next stage, pending the formation of the new government.”

During the meeting of the economy plan, Diab said: “We have activated the movement of the ministries to face challenges and rights and exacerbate crises, especially the issue of support.” He added: “We cannot make any decisions at the cabinet level because the constitution does not allow the council to meet.”

In turn, the Minister of Health in the interim government, Dr. Hamad Hassan, said: “As interim government and ministers, we will hold each other accountable despite difficult challenges and strive to ensure options for citizens, especially those with limited income. “

For his part, the Minister of Industry in the interim government, Imad Hob, affirmed that this government will not accept to lift the subsidy completely and randomly, noting that the investigation revolves around its rationalization and importation, selecting the list of subsidies according to priorities among agricultural, industrial, food and pharmaceutical goods and materials.

The representative of the fuel distributors confirmed after the meeting of the oil and energy sector in Serail that fuel subsidies will not be lifted in the near future, and the focus will be on the proposal to rationalize the subsidies.
