The French Pasteur Institute published a study on Friday, indicating that meal times at home and in public places are a major source of contamination.
“We can see each other, just not in large numbers, and at critical meal times, there are not many people at the same table,” Pasteur epidemiologist Arnaud Fontane said Friday.
Macron’s aides were quick to contact everyone he had had contact with in recent days.
The French Health Minister indicated that he may have been infected at the European Union summit in Brussels last week, but Macron also held several meetings in Paris.
In a brief statement, the presidency said that Macron had been tested “as soon as the first symptoms appeared” on Thursday morning and that he would isolate himself for 7 days, in accordance with the recommendations of the national health authorities. .
The statement added that the 42-year-old president “will continue to work and take care of his activities remotely,” while Macron came forward to deliver his speech via video link on Thursday, according to “Sky News.”
