The Lebanese National Information Agency indicated that a fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning in the forests and orchards of the towns of Jrabta and Saghar al-Batrounateen, and in the town of Ain Kafaa in the Jbeil district, which borders the villages of Batrouna and connects with the outskirts.
And he reported that the Civil Defense firefighters came to extinguish the fire.
The population of the region demanded that the Lebanese authorities carry out an urgent investigation into the repeated fires in the same places, since they were repeated in the same area for the fifth time, in a period not exceeding one month.
In the town of Bentael in the Jbeil district, shortly before midnight yesterday, a large fire broke out, which spread over an area of more than 70 thousand meters of land, and the flames reached the houses, destroyed large areas of fruit trees and oaks, and affected part of one of the houses, and two cars. They were parked on the side of the road.
The fire also affected a series of plastic agricultural tents, two rooms in a villager’s house and outdoor furniture in one of the houses.
The members of the fire brigade from the Jbeil, Beja and Jaj centers, with the support of the elements and vehicles of the fire brigade from the nearby towns and cities, put out the fire, while the tanks of one of the distribution companies of water to the houses supplied water to the fire trucks.
It is worth noting that there are four fire trucks in Jbeil district, out of the seven, they are idle, and no funds have been disbursed to repair them, and the existing mechanisms will stop working early next month, due to depletion of their fuel budget, as a result of the economic crisis in Lebanon at the moment. .
